Company story
In little under 10 years, Portocabo has become one of the most referenced drama production companies in national and international markets, establishing alliances to produce drama, opening Spain to international coproduction.
Portocabo is led by Alfonso Blanco, an executive producer and showrunner who has been recognised as one of the 50 most influential leaders in Ibero-American fiction by the specialist media. He is also the first Galician member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Vision and projects
Over the course of its history, Portocabo has produced content in different formats (programmes, documentaries, series and films) and genres (e.g. comedies, thrillers, period dramas, family films).
Its involvement in numerous international co-productions has allowed it to create products that are enjoyed in many different countries around the world. Among Portocabo’s most outstanding crime drama series are: two seasons of Rapa (produced for Movistar Plus+), two seasons of "Hierro" (ES/FR coproduction with Movistar Plus+, ARTE France and Atlantique Productions), two seasons of Dry Water (ES/POR coproduction with CRTVG, RTP and SP-i), "Honor" (Atresmedia) or "The Envoys" (Paramount+). The feature film "Brothers-in-Law" or the kids live action series "The Argonauts and the Gold Coin" (coproduction with CLAN/RTVE.
